Amicus Mentor Coordinator/Volunteer Recruiter
Purpose of Position: This full-time position is responsible for volunteer recruitment, community engagement as well as mentoring program coordination (this position is funded in partnership with AccessAbility Inc’s Training to Work 2 – Adult Reentry Grant). The Volunteer Recruiter will be instrumental in implementing new strategies for connecting with qualified mentors as well as developing, expanding and maintaining relationships with appropriate community and faith-based organizations.
Major and Specific Responsibilities:
Recruit volunteers to work with people reentering community after incarceration
- Plan and implement volunteer recruitment and Call to Action events;
- Develop and implement new strategies for volunteer recruitment and training;
- Evaluate recruitment activities for effectiveness and return on investment;
- Cultivate relationships with key community stakeholders to nurture recruitment partnerships;
- Partner with Community Engagement team for screening of volunteers and matching volunteers with inmates;
- Attend and help plan volunteer support and recognition events;
- Respond to offender requests for information about project participation;
- Track and report on all recruitment and field activities on a regular basis;
- Participate in agency and partnering agency meetings and trainings
- Work closely with Community engagement and Communications to effectively market mentoring program
